Flash Navigation is a popular tool that a lot of websites are using, but they do not understand it can ruin search engine optimization. Flash Navigation like Shockwave Flash makes it harder for the spiders to really get into your site. Flash is images and graphics that may be animated or otherwise eye stopping for your customers. For example have you ever gone to a page that will load images, video, or something else flashy before you get to the real homepage?
Cut this type of thing out of your website. It is unnecessary and harmful. Instead use plain text links and simple pages where ever possible. Dynamic web pages can exist, without adding all the flash.
Along the same lines you need to use hypertext in order to get the bots through your site. Hypertext tells the search engines what is relevant. It is kind of like a sign that says “Hey, read this now.” By using hypertext you are essentially sending the bots on a mapped out version of your site. They will gain the information they need to place you in the database and pull you up when a customer searches for keywords. Hypertext and no flash is the way to go.
